Xcelerium teamed up with KICS to equip 3rd-year students with vital skills in digital systems design and verification. Over the last three months, with the backing of Xcelerium and KICS, the UET Lahore Electrical Engineering department and MEDS have provided comprehensive training covering both fundamental and advanced topics in Digital Systems and Computer Architecture.
Students explored languages such as C, Python, Tcl, SystemVerilog, and RISC-V assembly for design and verification. They gained hands-on experience using various simulators and emulators, including Spike ISS, QEMU, Verilator, and Cocotb, while applying essential verification concepts. The curriculum also included key topics in computer architecture, like pipelining, cache controllers, and out-of-order execution. As the trainees moved into the final year of their studies, they have now been onboarded on various hardware and software projects.
This program underscores our commitment to preparing students for the evolving tech landscape. A heartfelt thank you to Xcelerium, KICS, and our dedicated faculty—Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Dr. Ubaidullah Fayyaz, Mr. Umer Shahid, and Ms. Shehzeen Malik—for their invaluable support.
