Seminar/Technical Talk on ‘Antennas, their applications and future career prospects and opportunities’

A Seminar/Technical Talk has been scheduled for EE students in order to brief the attendees about the fundamentals of antennas and their applications for modern wireless communications especially for 5th Generation (5G) wireless transceivers. This talk will also discuss the future career prospects and opportunities for students opting for career and research in the field of antenna and high frequency engineering.
All EE students are encouraged to attend this seminar and attendance is compulsory for final year EE students (2018 session). It is important to mention here that an elective course ‘EE-483 Antenna systems’ has been offered in current semester for EE 2018 students. This course is very interesting and final year EE students are encouraged to take this course to plan their career in antenna and high frequency engineering. Moreover, ‘EE-528 Antenna Theory and Design’ is being offered in current semester for postgraduate (MSc/PhD) EE students. Both courses will be taught by Dr. Haq Nawaz, Associate Professor, EE, UET Lahore, Pakistan

Presenter’s Biography:
Dr. Haq Nawaz received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and the Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila, Pakistan in 2005 and 2012, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey. From January, 2017 to June, 2018, he has worked as post-doc research fellow with Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), Sabanci University, Turkey. During 2006-2009, he was with Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) Pakistan as a RF Design Engineer. He served University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila, Pakistan, as a faculty member in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nov. 2009 to April, 2021.
Currently, he is working as Associate Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan. His research interests include full duplex antenna design, RF circuits design and measurements for Radar and Satellite systems, beam-switched and phased scanning array antennas design and indoor positioning systems design. He has authored more than thirty (30) research papers published in renowned international journals in addition to one Patent in United States Patent and Trademark Office’s and several papers in IEEE conferences. He is a part of editorial teams of several journals including IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and IEEE Access etc.
